That explanation of the intake air recirculation at 70 mph in sub-5°C weather makes total sense! I used to leave Fresh Air forced on all winter in my Dolphin and wondered why consumption jumped from 3.7 to 3.1 miles/kWh.

BYD Shark 6 Tub Liner & Tonneau Cover Water-Tightness in Heavy Tropical Rain (QLD Wet Season Test)Has anyone tested how weather-resistant the factory electric roller shutter is on the BYD Shark 6 during proper Queensland tropical downpours? I carry Milwaukee power tools in Packout boxes in the tub and want to know where water gets in around the tailgate corners.

How to Check Your DiLink Hardware Version (DiLink 3.0 / 4.0 / 5.0) & Best Entertainment Setup While SuperchargingHonestly, Since BYD added the native Browser and BYD App Store (with YouTube & Stingray Karaoke) in the recent OTA updates, I don't even bother sideloading APKs anymore. Full-screen YouTube in the native browser runs at 1080p60 with zero lag on the 15.6-inch screen while waiting 20 mins at an Evie charger.

BYD Dolphin & Atto 2 (Yuan Up) Real-World City & Commuter Efficiency Log: How Many kWh/100km (mi/kWh) Are You Getting?Curious to see what real-world efficiency numbers fellow BYD Dolphin (and new BYD Atto 2) drivers are seeing on their daily commute!

On-Road Impressions, Efficiency & Setup Details
Here is my 12-month log from our 2024 BYD Dolphin Premium (60.48 kWh battery / 150kW motor) commuting around Fremantle & Perth WA:
- Lifetime Odometer:
21,400 km - Cumulative Average on Dash:
12.6 kWh/100km(4.93 mi/kWh)! - Urban / Suburban Commute (40–80 km/h, AC on 22°C):
11.4 kWh/100km— which translates to a genuine 510+ km city range on a single charge. - 110 km/h Kwinana Freeway runs:
15.2 kWh/100km(~395 km pure highway range).
Because I charge exclusively off rooftop solar via Home Assistant OCPP diversion during the day (8c/kWh feed-in opportunity cost), my running cost is literally $1.01 per 100 km. Post your model, city, and average consumption below!

75,000 km Long-Term Ownership Review: 2023 BYD Atto 3 Extended Range — Blade Battery SOH (97.5%), Servicing Costs & Wear ItemsJust ticked over 75,000 km (46,600 miles) in our Surf Blue 2023 BYD Atto 3 Extended Range (60.48 kWh) here in Melbourne, and since I started logging every charge and service on Day 1, here is the brutally honest long-term report card.

1. Blade Battery Health (SOH) at 75,000 km
Plugged in my Vgate vLinker MC+ OBD2 dongle with CarScanner Pro this morning after a full 8% → 100% AC calibration charge:
- BMS Reported State of Health (SOH): 97.5%
- Cell Voltage Delta at 100%:
0.006V(6 millivolts across all 126 LFP cells — basically factory fresh!) - Charging Habits: ~80% home 7kW solar/off-peak AC charging (charged to 100% twice a week), ~20% DC fast charging on highway trips down to Geelong and Gippsland.
2. Total Maintenance & Repairs Over 75,000 km
- 20k, 40k, 60k Logbook Services: Stuck to the capped-price schedule (brake fluid at 40k, reduction gear oil at 40k, cabin filters I swap myself in 2 minutes behind the glovebox for $18).
- Tyres: Swapped the terrible factory Atlas Batman A51 tyres at 24,000 km for Michelin Primacy 4 ST (235/50R18). Still have 4.2mm tread left on the Michelins after 51,000 km!
- Brakes: Original factory pads still have 7.5mm of meat left because regenerative braking does 90% of the stopping.
- Warranty Claims: Had the 12V auxiliary lead-acid battery replaced under warranty at 31,000 km, and the driver's interior door pull cable adjusted once. Zero drivetrain or HV faults.
