@trent_adelaide Good call! Some dealers try to skip the 40,000 km reduction gear oil change unless you specifically point to it in the BYD Warranty & Maintenance logbook. Changing that first 0.7L of fluid after gear run-in is the best insurance for the 8-in-1 drive unit.

Took my BYD Sealion 7 Excellence AWD (91.3 kWh e-Platform 3.0 Evo) down the M40 yesterday and logged a full 10% to 85% DC fast-charging session on a 350 kW Osprey Kempower unit (ambient temp 11°C, battery pre-conditioned via built-in nav).

Logged Charging Curve:

• 10% – 35% SOC: Held a rock-steady 226 – 231 kW
• 40% – 55% SOC: 182 kW
• 60% – 75% SOC: 128 kW
• 80% SOC reached at: 23 minutes 50 seconds (added 66.4 kWh)

Even above 80%, the new Evo platform's pulse self-heating kept it pulling 68 kW all the way to 90%! Huge leap forward compared to earlier 400V LFP curves.

Plus the V2L adapter included in the boot let us power our camping fridge and coffee machine down at Jervis Bay over Easter!

Another neat accessory I fitted last week (Oct 2026): the frunk (front boot) gas-strut hydraulic lift kit and waterproof frunk liner bag. Takes 10 minutes to bolt on and makes opening the 53L front boot for charging cables a one-handed job.
