Just completed the First 5,000 km tyre rotation and underbody inspection on my BYD Seal at home using low-profile hydraulic jacks and rubber CTB jacking pucks.

BYD Seal Underbody Aero Shield Inspection, Jacking Puck Points & Tyre Rotation Guide

    DIY Maintenance Notes:

    • Jacking Points: Always use slotted rubber pucks on the four reinforced CTB sill notches so the jack saddle never touches the Blade Battery tray flange.
    • Torque Settings: Wheel lug nuts torque to 120 Nm (17mm deep socket with nylon sleeve to protect the alloys).
    • Front Frunk Cabin Filter Access: Popping out the frunk surround trim takes 90 seconds and gives direct access to the HEPA PM2.5 cabin filter—saved $90 doing it myself in 5 minutes.

@Logan_R_Seal 120 Nm is the exact factory spec—and rotating front-to-rear every 10,000 km on the AWD keeps the Michelin Pilot Sport EV tread depth completely even.

@Duncan_Seal Where did you grab your rubber jacking pucks? I keep a set of 4 in the frunk so any tyre shop has no excuse when lifting the car.

@Henry_H_TangEV The flat underbody aero trays on the Seal are super clean—not a single loose clip after driving through heavy winter rain.

Pre-heating the cabin via the BYD app on frosty mornings is a game changer.

@Andrew_NovatedAU Totally agree. Once you dial in the tyre pressures and regen settings, it transforms the daily drive.

@lukas_v_at Has anyone else noticed slightly better efficiency after the latest BMS calibration? Mine dropped by ~0.4 kWh/100km.

Interesting point about the charging curve. I found that plugging in around 15–18% SOC gives the fastest sustained peak kW before the BMS gently tapers above 80%.

For anyone reading this later: make sure you enable SOC calibration by charging to 100% on AC at least once every two to three weeks so the BMS range estimator stays dead accurate.

Subscribed to this thread. Has anyone here compared this behaviour before and after the latest DiLink OTA firmware update? Mine felt noticeably smoother in low-speed traffic afterwards.

Checked this with my dealer's senior HV technician at my scheduled service—everything lines up with the latest BYD global technical bulletin.

Great real-world data. Having proper owner telemetry instead of brochure claims makes configuring the car so much easier.

Great write-up! If anyone is on the fence, definitely take a 45-minute test drive on coarse-chip highway tarmac first — the acoustic glass makes a bigger difference than the spec sheet suggests.

Spot on breakdown. One detail I noticed after logging another 2,500 km is that the thermal management loop stays completely silent below 32°C ambient unless you chain two fast DC sessions back-to-back.
