Took delivery of our BYD Atto 2 Boost (45.1 kWh Blade Battery) in Manchester three months ago as our second household EV alongside a Sealion 6.
Why we picked the Atto 2 over the Dolphin:
- Boxier SUV upright seating position with higher hip point and much easier child-seat loading.
- CTB (Cell-to-Body) construction: First compact BYD crossover with the battery integrated into the floor structure—feels super rigid over speed bumps.
- 400L boot with a dual-level floor that swallows a full-size pram upright.
- Efficiency: Averaging 4.5 miles/kWh (13.8 kWh/100km) around Greater Manchester and the M60 ring road, giving a reliable 195–205 miles of real-world urban/suburban range.

The physical buttons on the centre console and the cleaner interior trim (no guitar strings on the doors!) make the Atto 2 cabin feel very mature. How is the DC charging speed on 100kW+ chargers?
