Field report after 40,000 km Major Service Log testing the Denza B5 / Fangchengbao Bao 5 built on BYD's DMO body-on-frame Super Hybrid 4x4 platform (505 kW / 760 Nm, front & rear locking differentials).

    Denza B5 (Bao 5) DMO 505 kW Off-Road 4x4: Diff Locks, DiSus-P Hydraulic Lift & Sand Dunes

    Off-Road & Touring Takeaways:

    • Leopard Turn (Tank Turn) & Low-Speed Rock Crawling: Precise millisecond electric motor modulation climbs rocky ledges at 3 km/h without any torque-converter surge.
    • Sand Mode (18 PSI on AT Tyres): The 31.8 kWh Blade Battery integrated into the ladder frame keeps the centre of gravity low on steep dune side-slopes.

@Henry_B_Shark6 760 Nm of instant electric + 1.5T DMO torque with front and rear diff locks makes sand recoveries almost effortless.

Pre-heating the cabin via the BYD app on frosty mornings is a game changer.

@nicola_h The 6 kW V2L output + built-in 2.5T towing capacity makes the Denza B5 one of the most capable overland tourers on the market.
