BYD Shark 6 Tub Liner & Tonneau Cover Water-Tightness in Heavy Tropical Rain (QLD Wet Season Test)
-
Has anyone tested how weather-resistant the factory electric roller shutter is on the BYD Shark 6 during proper Queensland tropical downpours? I carry Milwaukee power tools in Packout boxes in the tub and want to know where water gets in around the tailgate corners.

On-Road Impressions, Efficiency & Setup Details
Overall efficiency, cabin insulation, and LFP Blade Battery thermal stability have been rock-solid across both daily city commuting and 110 km/h highway runs.

I'm in Cairns and drove through 120mm of rain last month with the electric roller shutter closed. The main deck stayed 95% dry — the only trickle comes in through the two vertical side gaps next to the damped tailgate. A $28 3M EPDM tailgate perimeter rubber seal kit blocks 100% of dust and water around the tailgate edges!

Make sure you also check that the two front canister drain tubes on the roller shutter aren't kinked where they exit through the front tub floor grommets. One of mine had a slight pinch from dealer pre-delivery; straightened it out and it drains instantly now.
