One of the best-kept secrets on the BYD Atto 3, Dolphin, Seal, Sealion 6, and Shark 6 is that BYD pre-installs the housing, lens window, and in most markets the blue LVDS coaxial cable right behind the rear-view mirror cover!
For ~$55–$75 AUD (£32–£45) from AliExpress or TopBYD, you can plug in the genuine OEM BYD DVR Dashcam module in 15 minutes with zero wires hanging down your windscreen.

Did this on my 2024 Atto 3 Design here in Newcastle UK on Saturday — took literally 11 minutes from start to finish! The blue cable was tucked right behind the rain sensor connector wrapped in black sponge tape. Rebooted the screen (hold the centre console volume roller down for 10 seconds) and the DVR app popped straight up.

Important note for late-2024 / 2025 builds where BYD didn't pre-install the blue wire in the roof lining: make sure you order the "Camera + Cable Kit" ($12 extra) and check whether the back of your DiLink head unit takes the Blue Fakra or Brown/White LVDS plug. Running the cable down the left A-pillar (tucked behind the side curtain airbag!) takes an extra 15 minutes.

Make sure you buy a SanDisk High Endurance or Samsung PRO Endurance MicroSD card (128GB)! Standard cheap SD cards corrupt after 4–6 months of continuous loop recording in 45°C summer windscreen heat.
