Replacing Factory Atlas Batman A51 Tyres on BYD Atto 3 with Michelin Primacy 4 / Continental UC6
-
After 8,500 km Road-Trip Summary on the factory Atlas Batman A51 (215/55R18) tyres on our BYD Atto 3, I finally swapped all four corners to Michelin Primacy 4 SUV (235/50R18) and wanted to document the difference.

Key Improvements Measured:
- Wet Roundabout & Launch Traction: Eliminated the front-wheel ABS/traction control intervention when pulling out of wet junctions briskly.
- Coarse-Chip Road Noise (100 km/h): Phone SPL meter mounted on the centre console dropped by 2.1 dBA over coarse highway bitumen.
- Range Impact: Rolling resistance increased consumption by only 0.3 kWh/100km (~6 km less per full charge), which is a tiny trade-off for the massive braking confidence.

@QuietCabin_UK Best upgrade you can do on the Atto 3! I went with Continental UltraContact UC6 in the stock 215/55R18 size and wet braking feels like a completely different car.

@Dominic_EV Did you get a 4-wheel alignment done at the same time? My factory rear toe was slightly out from shipping, and aligning it stopped inner-shoulder wear completely.

@tim_ev_bkk Can confirm Hankook Ion Evo SUV is another brilliant EV-specific option for the Atto 3—super quiet foam liner inside the tread.

@VoltRider_SG Appreciate the detailed breakdown—this is the exact real-world owner data you never get from generic magazine reviews.

Subscribed to this thread. Has anyone here compared this behaviour before and after the latest DiLink OTA firmware update? Mine felt noticeably smoother in low-speed traffic afterwards.

Spot on breakdown. One detail I noticed after logging another 2,500 km is that the thermal management loop stays completely silent below 32°C ambient unless you chain two fast DC sessions back-to-back.

Can confirm the latest DiLink OTA firmware smoothed out the power delivery curve and improved wireless CarPlay reconnection speed noticeably.

My experience has been almost identical over the past 4 months. Zero rattles in the cabin so far, and the 360-degree camera clarity at night is still the best in its price bracket.
