Just ticked over 75,000 km (46,600 miles) in our Surf Blue 2023 BYD Atto 3 Extended Range (60.48 kWh) here in Melbourne, and since I started logging every charge and service on Day 1, here is the brutally honest long-term report card.

75,000 km Long-Term Ownership Review: 2023 BYD Atto 3 Extended Range — Blade Battery SOH (97.5%), Servicing Costs & Wear Items

    1. Blade Battery Health (SOH) at 75,000 km

Plugged in my Vgate vLinker MC+ OBD2 dongle with CarScanner Pro this morning after a full 8% → 100% AC calibration charge:

    • BMS Reported State of Health (SOH): 97.5%
    • Cell Voltage Delta at 100%: 0.006V (6 millivolts across all 126 LFP cells — basically factory fresh!)
    • Charging Habits: ~80% home 7kW solar/off-peak AC charging (charged to 100% twice a week), ~20% DC fast charging on highway trips down to Geelong and Gippsland.

    2. Total Maintenance & Repairs Over 75,000 km

    • 20k, 40k, 60k Logbook Services: Stuck to the capped-price schedule (brake fluid at 40k, reduction gear oil at 40k, cabin filters I swap myself in 2 minutes behind the glovebox for $18).
    • Tyres: Swapped the terrible factory Atlas Batman A51 tyres at 24,000 km for Michelin Primacy 4 ST (235/50R18). Still have 4.2mm tread left on the Michelins after 51,000 km!
    • Brakes: Original factory pads still have 7.5mm of meat left because regenerative braking does 90% of the stopping.
    • Warranty Claims: Had the 12V auxiliary lead-acid battery replaced under warranty at 31,000 km, and the driver's interior door pull cable adjusted once. Zero drivetrain or HV faults.

6 millivolts cell delta at 75,000 km is why LFP Blade chemistry is in a league of its own. We're at 55,000 km on our 2023 Atto 3 down in Christchurch NZ (including freezing South Island winters) and our OBD2 SOH reads 98.1%. Haven't noticed a single kilometre of real-world range loss.

Totally agree on doing the reduction gear oil change at 40,000 km! Some people try to skip it, but draining the initial break-in metallic sheen off the magnetic drain plug on the electric drive unit keeps the gearset whisper-quiet for the life of the car.
