BYD OEM Integrated Dashcam Guide: Pre-Wired Mirror Harness Check, Best Endurance MicroSD Cards & Loop Recording Fixes

Here is everything new owners need to know before installing the factory BYD integrated front dashcam (
Part #SC2E-3776910 / HCE-3776910

1. How to Check If Your Car Has the Pre-Wired Blue/White LVDS Cable
- Pop off the matte plastic cover behind the interior rear-view mirror using a nylon trim tool (pull straight down towards the dashboard, not towards the glass).
- Atto 3, Seal & Dolphin: Most RHD export builds have the 8-pin blue/brown LVDS socket tucked inside the foam sleeve—making installation a 10-minute plug-and-play job.
- Sealion 6 / Seal U: Some batches require running the short OEM coaxial jumper cable from the mirror down the passenger A-pillar to port #4 on the DiLink head unit.
2. Why Standard MicroSD Cards Fail After 6 Months
- The BYD DVR records continuous 1080p/1440p H.264 streams plus telemetry overlays (speed, brake pedal %, indicator state, steering angle). Always use a High-Endurance card (SanDisk Max Endurance or Samsung PRO Endurance 128GB) formatted directly inside the DiLink DVR app!

Having the speed, indicator status, and brake pedal application stamped right into the native DiLink dashcam video is huge for insurance claims. Took me 8 minutes to plug the OEM camera into my Atto 3's mirror shroud!

@Callum_Brown +1 on Samsung PRO Endurance 128GB. I used a cheap regular SanDisk Ultra first and it threw a "TF Card Error" after 4 months of summer parking heat. Swapped to PRO Endurance and it's been rock solid for 14 months.

@archiet82 Yes! The 5-second volume roller reboot triggers the CAN-bus peripheral scan so DiLink automatically installs the native DVR app icon.

@Benjamin_LDN_EV Tested the Forced 60% SOC Hold + Sand Mode combination on soft beach tracks over the weekend—dropping tyre pressures to 18 PSI and letting the 1.5T DMO generator hold battery buffer kept motor temps rock steady all afternoon.
-
@Malcolm_H_DMO Also worth noting on the DMO stationary generator mode: even with the A/C running in the cabin and a 240V kettle plugged into the tray, the 1.5T engine barely ticks over at 1,600 rpm.
