My 2026 BYD Seal facelift ownership experience after one month
-
I’ve had my 2026 BYD Seal (facelift) for a month now and wanted to share my thoughts. Overall I really like the car—the seats are exceptionally comfortable with strong heating/cooling, and the powertrain and ride refinement are fantastic.
However, there are several software quality-of-life quirks that could use improvement in future updates. The driver cluster layout is quite limited with no turn-by-turn map view, the tyre pressure monitoring throws frequent false alerts, cruise control speed buttons adjust in 5 mph increments rather than 1 mph steps, and the driver attentiveness camera is far too sensitive when looking around. The mobile app is also a bit slow to connect compared to using the key fob.
Curious to know if other 2026 facelift owners share these observations or have tips to resolve them!

I agree with everything you said, especially about the driver cluster. Having a dedicated screen and HUD but still needing to look at the main center screen for full navigation map info makes no sense.

For the cruise control increments, if you hold the toggle up or down instead of quick tapping it, does it change the behavior on your facelift software?

Thanks for the tip! On the v1.0 software I haven't tried holding the CC switch yet, so I'll test that out on my commute tomorrow.
