BYD Atto 3 60,000 km Tyre Wear & Alignment Report: Switching from Atlas Batman A51 to Michelin Primacy 4 ST
-
Just ticked over 60,000 km in my 2023 BYD Atto 3 Extended Range.

On-Road Impressions, Efficiency & Setup Details
The factory Atlas Batman A51 tyres lasted 42,000 km before getting noisy and losing wet-weather traction on roundabouts. I swapped to 235/50R18 Michelin Primacy 4 ST (18,000 km on them now) and wanted to report three big changes:
- Wet grip & regenerative braking: Zero front wheelspin pulling out of wet T-junctions.
- Cabin road noise: Dropped by 2.4 dBA at 100 km/h on coarse-chip country bitumen.
- Efficiency impact: Rolling resistance is virtually identical—still averaging 14.8 kWh/100km inflated to 38 PSI cold.
Also had a 4-wheel laser alignment done and found the rear toe was slightly out from factory. Worth checking at your next rotation!

Getting 42,000 km out of the factory Atlas tyres is impressive—mine were feathered on the front shoulders by 31,000 km! Put Hankook iON evo SUV (IK01A) on mine at 38 PSI and the reduction in coarse-chip roar is night and day.

@Andrew_NovatedAU Cross-checked this with several high-mileage owners in the Australian and UK owners groups?everyone past 60,000 km is seeing the exact same consistent results!
-
Can confirm from my own ownership log — keeping tyre pressures at 2.5 bar cold instead of the dealer-delivered 2.2 bar immediately shaved about 0.8 kWh/100km off my highway average.

Great real-world data. Having proper owner telemetry instead of brochure claims makes configuring the car so much easier.

Subscribed to this thread. Has anyone here compared this behaviour before and after the latest DiLink OTA firmware update? Mine felt noticeably smoother in low-speed traffic afterwards.

@zoe_phil_uk Getting a proper 4-wheel laser alignment after fitting the Michelin Primacy 4 tyres made a huge difference to straight-line highway tracking and wet grip.
