Melbourne to Sydney Coastal Drive (Princes Highway via Lakes Entrance, Merimbula & Narooma) in BYD Seal RWD
-
Skipped the boring Hume Highway and took the scenic 1,050 km Princes Highway coastal route from Melbourne through Lakes Entrance, Mallacoota, Merimbula, Narooma, and Kiama up to Sydney in our BYD Seal Premium RWD.

On-Road Impressions, Efficiency & Setup Details
- Averaged 14.6 kWh/100km along the winding coastal roads.
- Only needed two 20-minute DC fast-charge stops (Orbost and Batemans Bay) across the entire 3-day coastal tour!

The Princes Highway coastal drive through Narooma and Kiama is 10x nicer than the Hume, and 14.6 kWh/100km in the Seal RWD is super efficient.

@stewart.boyd Those sweeping bends around Sea Cliff Bridge north of Wollongong must have been a joy in the Seal!

@nathan_fras_uk Stopped at Bald Hill lookout above Sea Cliff Bridge for photos—car didn't miss a beat the whole trip.

Can confirm from my own ownership log — keeping tyre pressures at 2.5 bar cold instead of the dealer-delivered 2.2 bar immediately shaved about 0.8 kWh/100km off my highway average.

Completely agree on the practical usability. Being able to run a 2,000W induction stove and espresso maker off the V2L socket while only dropping 3% SOC over an afternoon is a game changer.
