Collected Our Aurora White BYD Sealion 7 Performance AWD in Melbourne! First 600 km Review
-
Picked up our Aurora White BYD Sealion 7 Performance AWD (390 kW / 690 Nm, 0–100 km/h in 4.5s) in Melbourne yesterday!

Coming from a Model Y Long Range, the ride comfort on DiSus-C adaptive dampers, the motorized electric sunshade for the glass roof, the physical indicator stalks, W-HUD, and acoustic cabin insulation are in a completely different league.

Having a built-in electric sunshade, physical indicator stalks, Heads-Up Display, and DiSus-C plush suspension fixes every single annoyance of the Model Y!
@GrantKerr Aurora White with the gloss black wheel arches and red 4-piston front brake calipers looks stunning.

@R_Wright_UK Wait until a hot 38°C Melbourne summer day—that electric roof sunshade + ventilated seats are worth their weight in gold.

Can confirm from my own ownership log — keeping tyre pressures at 2.5 bar cold instead of the dealer-delivered 2.2 bar immediately shaved about 0.8 kWh/100km off my highway average.
-
Interesting point about the charging curve. I found that plugging in around 15–18% SOC gives the fastest sustained peak kW before the BMS gently tapers above 80%.

Subscribed to this thread. Has anyone here compared this behaviour before and after the latest DiLink OTA firmware update? Mine felt noticeably smoother in low-speed traffic afterwards.
-
Completely agree on the practical usability. Being able to run a 2,000W induction stove and espresso maker off the V2L socket while only dropping 3% SOC over an afternoon is a game changer.

Appreciate the detailed breakdown! Tested these exact settings on my weekend highway run and cabin NVH + efficiency were spot on.
