Just picked up my Cosmos Black BYD Seal Premium RWD (82.5 kWh Blade Battery, 230 kW rear motor) in Melbourne!

Went with the Premium Extended Range RWD for the 570 km WLTP highway range and rear-wheel-drive steering balance. First 180 km down the Mornington Peninsula Freeway returned 13.9 kWh/100km!

13.9 kWh/100km on the Peninsula Freeway means an easy 520+ km of real-world highway range on a single charge!

@CallumSealAWD Cosmos Black with the dark 19-inch aero blades looks stealthy. Are you getting ceramic coating or front PPF done?

@Emma_SurreyEV Booked in for Gyeon Infinite ceramic coating + front bumper/bonnet TPU PPF next Tuesday to keep the black paint swirl-free!

Thanks for sharing the real-world numbers! Dealers rarely explain this clearly during handover, so having verified owner telemetry on the forum saves everyone a lot of guesswork.

Great write-up! If anyone is on the fence, definitely take a 45-minute test drive on coarse-chip highway tarmac first — the acoustic glass makes a bigger difference than the spec sheet suggests.

Completely agree on the practical usability. Being able to run a 2,000W induction stove and espresso maker off the V2L socket while only dropping 3% SOC over an afternoon is a game changer.

For anyone reading this later: make sure you enable SOC calibration by charging to 100% on AC at least once every two to three weeks so the BMS range estimator stays dead accurate.
