Why BYD Recommends Charging LFP Blade Batteries to 100% Once a Week (BMS Cell Top-Balancing Explained)
-
Unlike NCM (Nickel-Cobalt-Manganese) batteries that prefer an 80% daily limit, BYD's owner manual explicitly recommends charging your LFP Blade Battery to 100% at least once a week.

The Engineering Reason:
- LFP cells have a very flat voltage curve (~3.25V to 3.33V) between 15% and 95% SOC, making coulomb-counting drift slightly over time.
- At 99%–100% SOC, LFP cell voltage rises sharply to 3.60V–3.65V, allowing the BMS to calibrate exact SOC and bleed-balance all cells to within
5–10 mVof each other!

Wait until the wallbox power drops to 0.0 kW at 100%—the last 15 minutes at 99% is when the active BMS passive balancers align all the cells!
