If your BYD Dolphin or Dolphin Mini (Atto 1) feels slightly bouncy over urban speed bumps, here are three proven chassis and tyre adjustments that transform ride comfort:

BYD Dolphin & Dolphin Mini (Atto 1) Ride Comfort Tuning: Optimal Cold Tyre Pressures & Rear Damper Upgrades

    1. Free 5-Minute Fix: Staggered Cold Tyre Pressures

    • Many dealers deliver the BYD Dolphin inflated to 40–42 PSI from factory transport mode, making the rear feel bouncy over speed bumps.
    • Setting 36 PSI Front / 35 PSI Rear (cold) on the 205/50R17 tyres softens sharp low-speed bumps dramatically with zero loss in urban range.

    2. Upgrading Factory Linglong Tyres to Continental UltraContact UC6 / Michelin Primacy 4

    • Drops braking distance in the wet (100–0 km/h) by 3.4 metres and eliminates front-axle torque steer when pulling away briskly in wet conditions.

    3. Rear Damper Upgrade (For High-Mileage Owners)

    • Tein EnduraPro Plus (16-click adjustable damping, retains OEM ride height and springs) bolts straight into the Dolphin's strut mounts and gives it a firm, European Volkswagen Golf-like rebound control!

Spot on about dealers forgetting to drop transport tyre pressures at pre-delivery inspection! When I picked up my Dolphin Design in Leeds, all four tyres were sitting at 43 PSI cold—dropped them to 36F / 35R and it felt like a completely different suspension.
