If your wireless Apple CarPlay or Android Auto starts stuttering or fails to auto-connect after updating your iPhone to iOS 18/19 or Android 15/16, do not factory-reset your car! Here is the 60-second fix that clears the cached Wi-Fi Direct credentials.
On-Road Impressions, Efficiency & Setup Details
Overall efficiency, cabin insulation, and LFP Blade Battery thermal stability have been rock-solid across both daily city commuting and 110 km/h highway runs.

Step 1: Delete the BYD Bluetooth entry AND go to iPhone Settings → General → CarPlay → MyCar → Forget This Car. Step 2: Hold the physical volume roller on the BYD centre console down for 10 seconds to reboot DiLink. Step 3: Re-pair fresh — works 100% of the time!

Also check on your phone that VPN apps (NordVPN / ExpressVPN / corporate work VPNs) have "Allow Local Network / Split Tunneling" enabled! Wireless CarPlay and Android Auto transmit over a local 5GHz Wi-Fi Direct subnet (
192.168.x.x), and an active strict VPN blocks the local handshake. -
That VPN tip solved a 3-month headache for me!! My work phone had Cisco AnyConnect VPN running in the background and kept dropping Android Auto every 10 minutes. Excluded Android Auto in split-tunnel settings and it hasn't dropped once since.

If you have two drivers in the household (my wife and I swap the Sealion 6 daily), tapping the Phone Link device switcher icon on the top status bar lets you switch active CarPlay phones in 3 seconds.

My experience has been almost identical over the past 4 months. Zero rattles in the cabin so far, and the 360-degree camera clarity at night is still the best in its price bracket.

@Logan_Ferguson Cross-checked this with several high-mileage owners in the Australian and UK owners groups—everyone past 60,000 km is seeing the exact same consistent results!

@Lucy_Taylor Appreciate you sharing the exact numbers and settings here—so much clearer than the generic info in the owner's manual!

@Alexander_Sealion6 Can confirm the same behaviour on the latest OTA firmware version. Also worth checking your tyre pressures (38 PSI cold all round made a noticeable difference to highway stability on mine).
