Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) Sensor Reset & Learning Procedure After Rotating Wheels on BYD
-
Rotated my wheels front-to-back at 15,000 km in the garage this morning — do BYD TPMS sensors auto-learn their new corner positions, or do you need an Autel TPMS tool?

They auto-locate via individual wheel-arch LF antennas! After swapping wheels front-to-back, just drive at 40+ km/h for 8–10 minutes and the BCM automatically updates which sensor ID is at FL, FR, RL, and RR.
-
Confirmed! When I bought a second set of 18-inch winter wheels for my BYD Seal in Sweden, I fitted Autel MX-Sensors programmed to the 433MHz BYD protocol and the car picked up all four pressures within 5 km of driving without visiting the dealer.

For anyone reading this later: make sure you enable SOC calibration by charging to 100% on AC at least once every two to three weeks so the BMS range estimator stays dead accurate.

Thanks for sharing the real-world numbers! Dealers rarely explain this clearly during handover, so having verified owner telemetry on the forum saves everyone a lot of guesswork.
-
Appreciate the honest perspective! Every EV and PHEV platform has trade-offs, and seeing real long-term feedback like this is why independent owner forums are way more useful than brochure numbers.
