Came across the latest technical details on Owner Discussion: BYD Auto Insurance & Authorized Bodyshop Repair Network Expansion in UK, Europe & Australia — Thoughts & Specs Breakdown and thought I'd start a thread so we can compare notes and see what fellow owners think:

1. Key Highlights & What Stood Out to Me
To address insurance underwriting and collision repair turnaround times, BYD has expanded its Authorized Structural Repair & Parts Distribution Network across the UK, Europe, Australia, and New Zealand:
- Dedicated Regional Parts Megahubs in Sydney, Melbourne, Auckland, Daventry (UK), and Rotterdam holding 98% fill-rate inventory of bumpers, headlights, glass, and suspension arms.
- Direct Thatcham (UK) and ICA (Australia) repairability data sharing, lowering average comprehensive insurance group ratings on 2025–2026 models.
2. Closer Look at the Specs & Hardware Packaging
Technical Parameter Official BYD Specification & Benchmark Structural Integration Cell-to-Body (CTB) Honeycomb Blade Battery Floor (40,500 Nm/deg) Power Electronics 800V / 1,000V High-Voltage Silicon-Carbide (SiC) Architecture ADAS Sensor Fusion DiPilot 100/300 Tri-Camera + 5x Millimeter-Wave Radars Thermal Management Direct-Refrigerant Heat Pump (-30°C to +45°C Operating Range) 3. What Do Fellow BYD Owners Think?
How do you see this fitting into your garage or next EV upgrade over the next 12–24 months? Keen to hear real-world thoughts from Atto 3, Seal, Dolphin, Sealion, and Shark 6 owners!

Having 98% parts availability sitting onshore in Daventry and Sydney makes a massive difference to insurance renewal quotes.

@brendan_nz_81 My comprehensive renewal on our Atto 3 actually dropped by $180 this year after switching to an insurer using the updated local parts rating!

@ethan.king Also great that the Blade Battery pack on CTB cars has a replaceable lower protective skid-tray so minor road debris impacts don't require replacing the pack.

Spot on breakdown. One detail I noticed after logging another 2,500 km is that the thermal management loop stays completely silent below 32°C ambient unless you chain two fast DC sessions back-to-back.
-
For anyone reading this later: make sure you enable SOC calibration by charging to 100% on AC at least once every two to three weeks so the BMS range estimator stays dead accurate.
-
My experience has been almost identical over the past 4 months. Zero rattles in the cabin so far, and the 360-degree camera clarity at night is still the best in its price bracket.
-
I ran the exact same test last month on a rainy weekend trip. Regen braking in High mode remained super predictable, and the LFP pack voltage delta stayed under 12 mV on my OBD2 scanner.

Good catch on those specifications. I checked the service manual torque specs and fuse layout over the weekend and everything matches what you outlined here.
