Came across the latest technical details on Owner Discussion: BYD e-Platform 3.0 Evo Announced: 12-in-1 Powertrain, 23,000 RPM Motor & 230 kW Fast Charging — Thoughts & Specs Breakdown and thought I'd start a thread so we can compare notes and see what fellow owners think:

BYD e-Platform 3.0 Evo Announced: 12-in-1 Powertrain, 23,000 RPM Motor & 230 kW Fast Charging — Thoughts & Specs Breakdown

    1. Key Highlights & What Stood Out to Me

BYD has unveiled the e-Platform 3.0 Evo, debuting first on the BYD Sealion 7 EV!

Major Hardware Upgrades Over Standard e-Platform 3.0:

    1. 12-in-1 Integrated Electric Drive Unit with silicon-carbide (SiC) power electronics.
    2. 23,000 RPM High-Speed Traction Motor pushing top speed to 215 km/h.
    3. Intelligent Pulse Self-Heating & Dual-Gun / 230 kW CCS2 Charging: Drops 10–80% DC fast charge times to 24 minutes, and 80–100% top-up to just 18 minutes!

    2. Closer Look at the Specs & Hardware Packaging

Technical Parameter Official BYD Specification & Benchmark
Platform Architecture e-Platform 3.0 Evo with CTB (Cell-to-Body) Integration
Drivetrain & Peak RPM 23,000 RPM Traction Motor (Up to 390 kW / 690 Nm AWD)
DC Fast Charging Peak Up to 230 kW CCS2 (10% to 80% SOC in ~24 Minutes)
    Chassis & Safety DiSus-C Adaptive Damping + 5-Star ANCAP/Euro NCAP (93% Child)

    3. What Do Fellow BYD Owners Think?

How do you see this fitting into your garage or next EV upgrade over the next 12–24 months? Keen to hear real-world thoughts from Atto 3, Seal, Dolphin, Sealion, and Shark 6 owners!

Cutting the 80% to 100% top-up time down to 18 minutes on public DC chargers is huge when prepping for a long highway leg.

@Samira_EV 23,000 RPM from a production electric motor gives effortless top-end overtaking punch at motorway speeds.

@nina_b_akl The Sealion 7 on e-Platform 3.0 Evo looks like the sweet spot of the entire BYD electric SUV range.

Spot on breakdown. One detail I noticed after logging another 2,500 km is that the thermal management loop stays completely silent below 32°C ambient unless you chain two fast DC sessions back-to-back.

For anyone reading this later: make sure you enable SOC calibration by charging to 100% on AC at least once every two to three weeks so the BMS range estimator stays dead accurate.

Can confirm from my own ownership log — keeping tyre pressures at 2.5 bar cold instead of the dealer-delivered 2.2 bar immediately shaved about 0.8 kWh/100km off my highway average.

Followed this guide step-by-step in the garage this afternoon—took less than 20 minutes and worked first time without any warning lights.

My experience has been almost identical over the past 4 months. Zero rattles in the cabin so far, and the 360-degree camera clarity at night is still the best in its price bracket.
